Not exactly just a five minute call!

Reblogged from James K Slater:

I applied for an EIN over the phone, and it happened in five minutes !

I must admit, it wasnt quite that simple. I researched the many blogs available, and this one from Roz (thank you) that I have re-blogged is very informative. I also studied the information available on Amazon and at first considered applying for a ITIN. Realizing that I am truly self-employed in my own right I saw the option of an EIN to be much more attractive.

A Slice of Hell made into a movie ?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/ALQDKBC7GZIIK/ref=cm_cr_pr_pdp new review for A Slice of Hell , 4 stars. This reviewer suggested my story might make a good movie. I actually always thought the same, maybe someday it might happen. Love the story to be told in Australia, any film makers interested ?
“A Slice of Hell, September 6, 2012
Well written and keeps your intrest all the way thru. The ending I thought didn’t quite match the book, tho it could have if written as a mystery. I wouldn’t be suprised to see it as a Lifetime TV movie”

How I got my ITIN (US Individual Taxpayer Identification Number)

Reblogged from Nail Your Novel:

Click to visit the original post

If you are not a US citizen or resident in the US and you want to publish on Smashwords, Amazon Kindle or CreateSpace, your earnings will be taxed unless you have an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). This means that 30% of your money is kept before you ever see it - and then when you get the payment you have to pay your own country’s tax rate all over again.

A phone call to IRS at midnight and it was all done. The W-8BEN still needs to be completed once the EIN is granted. Simply download the form, fill it out and post it. As Roz has pointed out a few things MUST be adhered to or certain rejection will follow. Blue pen, and carefully read the instructions on each section. Comply with all directives on the forms to the letter, and DON'T abbreviate! (Why is abbreviate such a long word?). An old one liner that circulates the emails and social networking sites, but I couldn't resist using the old pun just once! The five-minute phone call to the IRS wasn't actually so simple. The phone bill hasn't been received yet, and the issuing of the EIN took three phone calls! The first call we were almost at the end of the questionnaire, when the very slow speaking customer service operator advised me that his computer crashed. Several minutes later he finally came back to me (the on - hold music was truly lovely). The gentleman from the IRS told me I needed to call back as he could no longer help me... I promptly dialed back within one minute, this time a nice lady told me to call back in two to three hours! it was 10 pm and I needed to leave home by six a.m.! I took down her customer service number at the start of the call and her name for reference. Two hours later I thought I would try again. This time the same female operator answered but oddly gave me a different customer service number! I laughed to myself but said nothing. Amazingly, this time everything went smoothly and the call lastly a measly five minutes! I did actually write down the man's ID number as well, and the lady customer service operator with two different ID numbers... I won't write them down here, but it is a true story! (She had the same name and accent)! Wishing you all the best in your writing adventures. Here is a quick update on my work, I have started drafting a concept plan for my first full length fiction work, hopefully I will release it sometime early next year. I can tell you it is uniquely Aussie, with a sci-fi romantic twist... James K Slater.

New book suggestion

Hi readers!

A Slice of Hell has repeatedly beaten it’s own sales figures each week, this week it is sitting at # 5200- # 6200 out of over 1 million E-Books on Amazon. That’s a great result for my true life that has quite a narrow market. As I sit here eating my very unhealthy friday night take out with my family I wonder what to write next .

A true life story about child abuse hardly has scope for a sequel… or does it ?

What would you my readers and blog audience suggest as “my next book”?

I have many ideas sitting on my shelf, gathering E- dust on my external hard drive, which one cuts the grade, or should I run with something completely different?

Your thoughts are very welcome, have a great week!

Amazon book sales

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088P4ESI A true story of abuse, torture, rape, victimisation and extreme violence over several years of just one child – whilst the others looked on helpless to stop it. A true story where the mother of the child did nothing to stop it. She sat by and watched while the child was dragged from his bed by his hair and abused for hours, before being beaten very harshly – while the other children slept peacefully. A true story where the mother enabled sexual abuse, witnessed sexual molestation and did nothing. A true story containing several accounts of violence, perjury and even attempted murder, while the monster stills roams free!
